The Kikwit Medical Care Center is the heart of The Good Friend’s mission. This project began with a simple but urgent vision: to build a place where individuals and families in the rural countryside of the Democratic Republic of Congo could receive basic, modern, and compassionate medical care close to home.
Construction has progressed through faith, perseverance, local craftsmanship, and the generosity of supporters. Completing the Care Center remains a critical step toward creating a safe and reliable place of care for the Kikwit community. Once ready, the center will help meet physical needs while reflecting the love, dignity, and compassion that guide the work of The Good Friend.

Water Well
The Water Well project supports the Care Center’s ability to provide a cleaner, safer, and more functional environment for all who may visit the site for care.
This project represents more than infrastructure. It supports sanitation, daily operations, patient comfort, and the long-term sustainability of the Care Center. By helping provide access to water on site, we addressing one of the most basic needs required for a place of healing to serve the community well.

03
Security Fencing

Security fencing is an important step in protecting the Care Center property, equipment, supplies, staff, patients, and future services. As the site continues to develop, a secure perimeter helps create a safer environment for the people who will depend on the center.
This project helps safeguard the investment already made in the building and grounds. It also supports the long-term goal of creating a stable, trusted, and well-maintained place of care for the Kikwit community.
The Good Friend’s long-term vision includes building a morgue so families in the Kikwit area can care for loved ones with dignity and timeliness. This project responds to a deeply practical and compassionate need within the community.
A morgue would help families avoid delays and added hardship during times of loss. By including this project in the Care Center’s development, The Good Friend is seeking to support the full range of human need with dignity, compassion, and respect.
