CURRENT & ONGOING
NEEDS
The Good Friend is working to open and sustain the Kikwit Medical Care Center so individuals and families in Kikwit can receive accessible, affordable, and compassionate care. As the building nears completion, the next step is preparing the people, supplies, equipment, and daily operations needed to serve the community well.
Each need below helps bring the Care Center closer to becoming a dependable place of healing. Support for medical staff, support staff, training, supplies, and ongoing operations will help ensure patients and families are welcomed, cared for, and served with dignity.
We invite you to partner with The Good Friend ministry in the following ways. If interested, please use the contact information given for each area.
ONGOING SUPPORT
MEDICAL STAFF
The focus is on building a reliable medical team that can provide consistent care to the people served by the Care Center. This includes identifying qualified local doctors, nurses, and clinical volunteers who can support patient care, basic medical services, health education, and follow-up needs.
Partnering with medical professionals will help ensure the Care Center is not only completed and equipped, but also prepared to serve the community with competent and compassionate care.
Once the immediate staffing needs are identified, we will focus on supporting the ongoing goal of helping cover medical staff stipends, training needs, basic clinical supplies, and the resources required to keep care available on a regular basis.

ONGOING SUPPORT
SUPPORT STAFF
The focus is on developing the support team needed to keep the Care Center organized, clean, safe, and prepared to serve patients and families. Support staff may assist with patient intake, records, cleaning, maintenance, groundskeeping, supply organization, translation, transportation coordination, and other daily operations.
These roles are essential to helping the medical team provide care efficiently and ensuring that patients experience a welcoming and well-managed environment.
Once the Care Center is operational, we will focus on the ongoing goal of supporting the monthly staffing and operational needs that allow the center to remain dependable, sustainable, and ready to serve the community.

HOW CAN I BE A GOOD FRIEND?
Our Current Financial Needs
To keep the medical center serving the community, we need financial support to retain the people who make this work possible. Donations will help cover the ongoing support needed for doctors, nurses, administrators, custodians, security guards, and other essential staff who provide care and keep the center operating in Congo.
