What Would You Do?
Imagine if in the story Jesus told the Good Samaritan had nowhere to take the injured man to heal no inn no place of care. What would you do?
That question became deeply personal for Congolese born Seya Lumeya and his wife Cady as they stood on the soil of Seya’s ancestral homeland in Kikwit in the rural countryside of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
While hospitals exist in the city for many families in Kikwit they are too far away too expensive or not adequately equipped. For them there is no inn.
Our Story
When Seya asked God what to do in the face of this reality the answer was simple and unmistakable build the inn. Build a rural medical care center that is accessible, affordable and capable of providing basic modern medical care that reflects compassion in both action and word.
Trusting God and using their own limited resources Seya and Cady purchased land near a nurses training school partnered with local craftsmen and began building even as much of the work continued while they were back in the United States. What stands today is the visible result of faith perseverance and a deep commitment to the people of Kikwit.
